If you can spend hours on the shore mesmerized by the antics of sandpipers, this print is for you!
These spectacular ruffs (or combattants variés, Philomachus Pugmyx) come from a 1962 out-of-print French bird on nesting birds, illustrated by the fammous French painter and naturalist Paul Barruel.
The illustration depicts 3 male birds in full nuptial finery, with their fluffy throat feathers. Which female could resist them?

The birds are shown here at about two thirds of their real life size.

Frame it and gift it to your favorite  bird lover!

𝗦𝗜𝗭𝗘: : Image approx. 14,3 x 17,8 cm (5 3/4" x 7"), page approx. 29 x 19,7 cm (7 3/4" x 11 1/2"), margins included.

The actual print is glued onto the book page along its left edge, making a flap. The underlying page is made of thick white art paper and can serve as a mat. The back is printed as it is a book page.

𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 : What you will receive is an actual book page from 1962 that comes from a damaged volume.    This page is in very good condition, almost like new. The reverse is printed as it is a book page.

𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗚 : These prints ship from Switzerland in a cellophane bag and a cardboard-reinforced envelope. The mat and frame are NOT included.
