Roots, stems, flowers... how do these actually work?
Do you get so caught up in the mysteries of nature's workings that you can forget everything else? Do you have an inextinguishable thirst of knowledge because you need to know how everything works? Then you will delight in this lovely botanics poster.
Created from a 1938 botanical illustration, this large poster shows the 5th plate of a series which illustrated the "Botanique" section of the Quillet dictionary.
This page is the second one illustrating "Racines et tiges", which translates to "Roots and stems". It shows sections of roots and stems from flowering plants, with the cell structure. At the bottom are a couple of drawings illustrating parasiting plants.
Frame it and gift it to your favorite gardener or botanist for a deliciously retro office decor!
