● You're trekking in the scandinavian mountains. There are still patches of snow but the sun is shining and there are a few picturesque clouds scudding around. Suddenly a movement catches your eye in the snow... a white blur on white. Yes, this is the elusive mountain hare in its pristine winter coat. Aren't you lucky to have seen her?
The latin name of the species is Lepus Timidus, which probably means it's not easy to see. Ths listing is for a cute vintage rabbit print, showing the mountain hare (also known as blue hare, tundra hare, variable hare, white hare, snow hare, alpine hare, and Irish hare) in both summer and winter coats.
This lovely piece of rabbit art is a book page from a book French Swiss book published in 1970 "Mammifères d'Europe", which means Mammal of Europe, illustrated by the famous French painter and naturalist Paul Barruel and are beautifully detailed.
The name of the species in French are printed below the image. This great piece of French vintage animal art would make a perfect wall hanging for a rabbit decor, an animal decor, a zoology decor or a rodent decor. Perfect also for a classroom or nursery decor too !
