1970 Alpine Ibex Print - Bouquetins

● If you've hiked  in the Alps, you've maybe had the chance to see them... the emblematic and fascinating Bouquetin des Alpes or Alpine Ibex. This lovely little vintage ibex print shows a couple of ibexes, one standing and one lying down with its eyes closed. They are famous for being excellent climbers, hanging onto the tiniest rocks in the middle of high cliff faces.

This wonderful book page comes from a French Swiss book published in 1970 called "Mammals of Europe", illustrated by the famous French naturalist Paul Barruel. Barruel's animal paintings are so lifelike !
