One of the most fascinating wading birds, the Eurasian Spoonbill (Platalea leucorodia), with it's distinctive flattened beak which widens at the point. This illustration shows an adult in full mating feathers, with two chicks in the nest. The birds are represented at about 1/4 of their real size.

This French vintage bird print comes from an out-of-print 1962 French book "Oiseaux nicheurs d'Europe" (Nesting birds of Europe), illustrated by the famous French painter and naturalist Paul Barruel. The French name of the species is Spatule Blanche.

Frame it and hang it in your home to bring that dreamy elegant French touch to wow your visitors! Perfect for a lake house or as nursery decor.
