Lovely antique parrot bird print from a 1916 natural history book entitled "Wildlife of the world" by Richard Lydekker. This vintage print is in very good condition, with a slight yellowing of the paper at the edges.
It shows the Australian Leadbetter's Cockatoos (or Major Mitchell's cockatoos), with their distinctive pink feathers.
The book was illustrated by A. Weczerzick and W. Kuhnert, this particular print being from Walter Kuhnert. The printing techniques of the time gives them a very soft aspect.
Frame it and gift it to your favorite ornithologist!
