Old Madagascar French map from 1897. Madagascar used to be a French colony. This lovely colored vintage map comes from a damaged French Larousse dictionary of 1897. It shows the countries as they were at the time, more than 100 years ago, at the end of hte 19th century.
The reverse is printed with various dictionary articles and typical scenes from Madagascar at the time: people in traditional costume, architecture and animals like the zebu.
These vintage maps make lovely wall hangings once framed or you can use them for your own collage or scrapbooking projects.
